My reaction to this novel...
I just saw this book while I was searching for books for Christians. As a Christian, I also enjoy reading materials that are suitable for Bible study or devotional purposes. Actually, I thought this was a devotional book, but it turns out it is different because the approach of this book focuses more on the topics discussed by the author regarding counseling and her secret sin.
Everyone sins, and I believe that everyone has secret sins, not just women. Like me, I also had a hidden sin in the past, but after I got to know and establish a proper relationship with the Lord, I prayed about it, asked for forgiveness, and turned away from it. I have also read many stories here that I can somewhat relate to because perhaps the topic is really about women.
What I noticed about the author's writing is that it does not resonate deeply, which is why I have somewhat forgotten the earlier pages I read. However, I appreciated the inclusion of verses, which I truly valued. There are also questions at the end of each chapter that you can use for reflection. I believe this is the most commendable aspect, as it provides the reader with an opportunity to reflect based on the chapter's topic. It becomes interactive and personal.
The book is quite thin, so it can be finished reading quickly. Therefore, I believe there are no boring moments while reading it, as it is completed swiftly. It can easily be finished in one sitting. I think Christians who enjoy reading quick reads will appreciate this, as I was also surprised to find that I was nearing the end of my reading, even though I had not yet fully enjoyed what the author was saying.
This book is acceptable for me. It is good to recommend to Christians or even to non-Christians who are looking for books about sins and how to return to the Lord. You will learn a lot, especially about sin and how it separates us from the Lord.
My Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐(3/5)
